Continuing our partnership with Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner Marc Jones, we are delighted to announce 50 places for our hugely popular young driver project.
The PCC Young Driver Scheme is seen as a crucial step in helping to reduce the high casualties amongst young drivers in Lincolnshire county.
PCC Young Driver Scheme Details
The PCC is looking to sign up young drivers from the various district councils across Lincolnshire based on each council’s population numbers as follows:
- 5 places in Boston
- 9 places in East Lindsey
- 7 places in Lincoln
- 8 places in North Kesteven
- 6 places in South Holland
- 9 places in South Kesteven
- 6 places in West Lindsey
The Advanced Driver course usually costs £204 and includes membership of a local group, around 6-12 sessions with a qualified Observer, the Advanced Test and one year’s Associate membership of IAM RoadSmart.
Thanks to the funding being offered by Lincolnshire’s PCC, successful applicants will be asked to contribute only £104, and upon successful completion of the course, will get £40 back.
Applications
This scheme is open to 17-24 year old drivers only and places are limited – if you are interested
in taking the course, complete the form by clicking this link: PCC Young Driver Application form
Please note that application for this scheme does not guarantee acceptance due to the limited number
of places available and District Council population numbers. Successful applicants will be assigned a qualified IAM National Observer who will mentor them through the advanced driving course. All our observers are volunteers and give their time freely, and it is therefore important that applicants keep
to appointments and arrive on time at the arranged rendezvous point.
